Some people like to use a stand for their iPhone or iPod Touch when viewing things like movies on a desk or airplane tray table. Try an inexpensive credit card holder. Plastic, metal, wood — it doesn’t matter.
There’s nothing to cut, bend or assemble. They’re cheap and obviously can be purchased at any OfficeMax, Office Depot, Staples, etc.
Try it out in the store to see if the vertical and horizontal angle is to your liking. I had a metal mesh holder “in stock” — it works perfectly.
