Google’s focus on location

Google announced today that they are rebranding their Local Business Center as Google Places. They’re also adding a number of new features. The basic services are free.

The reasons?

  • According to Google, one out of every five searches are related to location.
  • Searching on mobile devices is surging

Google Places should help businesses manage their location presence within the internet’s dominant search engine.
