Best Mac Keyboard I’ve Ever Used

I’ve tried just about every Mac keyboard over the last 25 years — searching for the best combination of features and feel for touch typing. After only two days of use, I know I’ve found the best so far: Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 for Mac.

Here’s what I like about it:

  • The keys are slightly concave where your fingertips rest. They feel great to the touch.
  • Keystrokes have the right amount of downstroke depth.
  • There’s a bit of resistance on the downstroke before they snap to register a keystroke, providing excellent tactile feedback.
  • The spacebar downstroke is consistent across its entire width — which I’ve found is not always the case with all keyboards.
  • The keys provide just a bit of audible feedback to let you know you’ve typed something, yet they’re not noisy at all.
  • Keyboard layout is full-sized, with sufficient space between each key.
  • It’s designed and labeled for a Mac, not a Windows machine. This is not mandatory for me, but it just looks right!
  • It’s thin, lightweight and wireless.
  • No batteries are needed because it’s solar powered. But the “solar” part is a bit of a misnomer. You don’t need to put it near a window facing the sun — ambient room or desk lighting is more than sufficient to keep it fully charged.
I couldn’t be happier with this keyboard. I give it my highest rating — it’s definitely worth $59.95.

THIS is good to know. It will be my next keyboard. I have grown to dislike my apple keyboard. I feel like I’m pounding on it all the time – and still letters get skipped. And solar powered to boot? I’m sold!

I’ve felt the same way about my Apple keyboard for a long time.*

How do you feel this compares to the following keyboards?

    Macally Icekey
    Dad Keyboard with mechanical keys

Also, thanks for the “all my files” info. That is really a great new feature!

    Thanks!

The Logitech keyboard is no match for the Macally Icekey or Das Keyboard when it comes to their true mechanical keys. But it does have a nice touch and isn’t too noisy. I realize keyboarch choices are personal — I happen to really like this Logitech version.
